There are still plenty of H-1B cap subject numbers for employment to begin no earlier than October 1, 2009. As of July 10, 2009, the H1B cap count moved backward slightly, with a count of 44,900. No explanation was provided for the decrease. Both the advanced-degree and regular caps remain open for FY2010.
