President/CEO

Jan Pederson, Esq.

The firm was founded by Ms. Pederson in Washington, D.C. in 1980, with its guiding principle that service and results to the client are the top priorities of the firm. This philosophy is manifested in the dedicated daily work of all firm members. In fulfilling its responsibilities of serving an international clientele, the firm leadership believes it is important to our clients that a firm member be available at all times (7 days a week, 365 days a year) to resolve problems.

Our Dedicated Staff

Director of Professional Relations

Kay Choi began as a Legal Assistant with Pederson Immigration Law Group after graduating with degrees in biology and chemistry. At Pederson Immigration Law Group, Ms. Choi directs outreach efforts and works closely with our physician clients. She directs liaison with employers, government agencies, and Congress, and through these contacts is instrumental in obtaining fair and expeditious handling of their cases. Ms. Choi has native fluency in Korean.

Senior Legal Assistant - Family Immigration

Natali Felipe received a degree in Business Administration and has had several years of experience working for international organizations. On the staff of Pederson Immigration Law Group, she is primarily responsible for family based visa petitions and removal of conditions, naturalization, and acting as liaison with clients and attorneys to answer questions and provide general information in Spanish/English. Ms. Felipe has native fluency in Spanish.

Legal Assistant - Permanent Residence

Lindsay Summers aides clients pursuing labor certification through the Program Electronic Review Management (PERM) program. She handles all aspects of the Labor Certificate process, including prevailing wages, work-location research and medically underserved area determinations, job classification, creating and posting job advertisments, applicant reviews, etc. She also works with clients preparing for and filing I-140 Immigrant Petitions, Adjustment of Status, Employment Authorization, and Advance Parole.

Legal Assistant - Alien Labor Certification Division

Tony Yatco aides clients pursuing immigrant visas to work legally within the United States while applying to become legal residents. He handles all aspects of the Labor Certification process, including prevailing wages, work-location research and medically underserved area determinations, job classification, reduction in recruitment and non-RIR cases, creating and posting job advertisments, applicant reviews, etc.

Legal Assistant - H-1B Division

Yumi Jono assists professional and corporate clients in obtaining H-1B and related visas in order that they may work legally within the United States. She is a liason on our monthly trips to Mexico and Canada.

Client Specialists

Our wonderful and highly skilled client specialists are here to assist you daily with your case. They handle many tasks, including assisting with opening cases and gathering initial information for new perspective clients; scheduling telephone and personal appointments with attorneys; updating contact and case information in clients files and the database; acting as liaison between clients and attorneys to answer questions and provide general case information; aiding and assists legal assistant; providing general office support and clerical duties.
