Secretary Chertoff announced on June 9, 2008, in a press briefing, that USCIS would begin during the month of June 2008 to issue EAD work permits valid for two years to applicants for permanent residence whose cases are expected to remain pending for more than a year.

This is indeed welcome news to our many patient clients who will now only need to renew their EAD work permits every two years. We will post the details as they are released by USCIS, including the effective date and eligible classes of adjustment applicants.
