| Federal Court Judges Delay Citizenship |

An article in the December 19, 2008 edition of The Washington Post reported that the unconscionable citizenship delays are partially attributed to federal judges who delay naturalization ceremonies , refusing to schedule sufficient ceremonies to meet the demand and refusing to grant authority to USCIS officials to administer citizenship oaths. The tragedy is that some many naturalization eligible applicants were deprived of the opportunity to vote in the historic 2008 election because of unreasonable delays in naturalization.
