Sources on Capitol Hill have advised that the Conrad State 30 Program which expires on September 30, 2009 is likely to be authorized for a 30 day extension through a large appropriation bill (Section 134 of Division B of HR 2918) and for an additional three years; until September 30, 2019 through another pending appropriation bill (Section 571(b) of HR 2892).  It is expected the bills will be straight reauthorizations of the program and will not contain the changes we support such as exempting physicians working in underserved areas from the employment-based immigrant visa quota.
