The American Consulate in Mumbai posted on its Website that the Indian EB2 category would be current in February causing joy throughout the Indian immigrant community.  However, the joy proved to be short-lived as there was a clerical error in the post and the correct EB2 immigrant visa cut-off date in May 6, 2006.  Hopefully, the proposed legislation to abolish the DV lottery and transfer 55,000 numbers per year to the EB2 category to be issued to those with U.S. master degree, thus freeing up EB2 visa numbers for India and China born EB2, will be enacted.
