In an unexpected move, DHS published notice in the Federal Register today that it will remove all countries currently designated from the NSEERS registration requirements. NSEERS imposed exit and entry requirements on nonimmigrants from certain countries. NSEERS was enacted in response to 9/11, however, the countries subject to NSEERS requirements has changed over time. Upon publication, DHS will no longer register nonimmigrant aliens under NSEERS, effective April 28, 2011.
