The Department of State has announced that all visa services at the American Embassy in Damascus have been suspended until further notices.  Persons who were interviewed for visas prior to July 12 will have their cases completed.

No other post has yet been designated to process immigrant visas and per normal DOS policies, nonimmigrant visa applicants should be able to process at any post.  For immigrant visa cases, applicants need to locate another post willing to accept the IV cases and have the accepting post contact Damascus to request file transfer.
