Effective immediately,  the Department of State announced that no more employment-based visa numbers will be available until October 1, 2011.   Thus, if a visa number has not been allocated before the morning of September 15, 2011, adjustment of status cannot be granted before October.  This action was necessary because the FY2011 limit on employment-based immigrant visas has been reached.
