Processing Times

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Service Centers
Formerly the Immigration & Naturalization Service (INS)

This section contains the most recent processing times for the USCIS National Benefits Center, Regional Service Centers and USCIS District Offices. These are approximate processing times as issued by the USCIS and some cases may take longer. You may always check the status of your USCIS case online at uscis.gov*. Typically, USCIS will not entertain status inquires on cases until the maximum processing time listed on the receipt notice has elapsed.

Note sure where your case is being processed? Use our Service Center data sheet to find out within what jurisidiction your state rests. Also, you may look at the Receipt Number on your application(s), and use the following guide: EAC [Vermont], MSC [Missouri], NSC [Nebraska], SRC [Texas], WAC [California].

Automated Phone Lines: After the DHS reorganization, USCIS Service Centers cannot be reached individually. You must call the National Customer Service Center (1-800-375-5283) to inquire about your case.

CALIFORNIA

Arizona | California | Guam | Hawaii | Nevada.

The "Just In Time" format below lists the dates that petitions and applications are taken off the shelf for adjudication by INS Examiners. It may take another month before the Examiner issues an approval or denial. Furthermore, it is a mistake to assume that petitions and applications are always adjudicated in chronological order. Many times, they are not.

Alaska | Colorado | Idaho | Illinois | Indiana | Iowa | Kansas | Michigan | Minnesota | Missouri | Montana | Nebraska | North Dakota | Ohio | Oregon| South Dakota| Utah | Washington| Wisconsin | Wyoming | British Columbia, CA | Calgary, CA | Manitoba, CA.

Note: Our processing times are a derivative of the information we gather, and are not to be construed as a promise or legal advise; they do not guarantee a petition or application will be processed on any specific date. We use information from AILA* as well as notices received and other sources of information in order to maintain the most complete and accurate processing times report possible.
